3-Day Glimpse of Bhutan

 

This package is ideal for those who have limited time but want to have wonderful short trip to Bhutan. While on this trip, you will have the opportunity to visit and explore some "must see" guest destination in the country. Although it is a 3-day trip but you will take away some great insights into the country, people and culture. We make sure you see and experience what you must. After this, most guests decide to come back again.


Day 1: Arrive Paro by Druk Air - Thimphu

 

Flying into Bhutan in Drukair will be wonderful start of your trip. While onboard you will enjoy with exciting scenery of foothills, green vegetation and landscape and snow-clad Himalayan mountains. After a few hours of exciting journey, you will finally arrive in Bhutan, your much awaited destination.

On arrival at Paro airport, you will be met and welcomed by our representative. After completion of airport formalities, you will be travel to Thimphu, the capital city and takes about 2 hrs. In Thimphu, as you already had an exciting yet tiring day, you will just hang out and have an overview of the city and surrounding areas. 

Day 2: Thimphu – Paro, 55 km, 2 hours drive

 

Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan is the seat of government, home to Bhutan’s Royal family, and is the most populated district in Bhutan. This bustling town is home to the civil servants, and foreign missions with representation in Bhutan. It is also the headquarters for a number of internationally funded development projects such as the UNDP and SNV. 

In the morning, you will visit Trashichho dzong, the beautiful monastery built in traditional unique architectural style. It houses Government's offices, King's Throne room, and is the summer residence of Jekhenpo, the Chief Abbot. After that, you will visit the National Memorial Chorten and Changangkha Lhakhang. Later, you will have opportunity to visit the Folk & Textile Heritage Museums, a fascinating testimony of Bhutan's living traditions. Then drive to Paro.

At Paro, you have a few options. Either visit Ta Dzong, a watchtower built to defend Rinpung Dzong during inter-valley wars of the 17th century. Ta Dzong was inaugurated as Bhutan's National Museum in 1968. Afterwards, walk down a hillside trail to visit historical Rinpung Dzong. OR take a hike to Taktshang Monastery, the famous Tiger's Nest. In the evening take a walk around Paro main street. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Day 3: After breakfast, our representative will drive you to the airport, assists with exit formalities, and bid farewell.
