Day 1. Acclimatization

On arrival at Paro airport, meet your Personal Guide and begin your Ngyelso ‘leisure tour’ with about an hour drive to Thimphu (2350m), Capital of Bhutan. Visit Kuensel Phodrang popularly known as Buddha Point where the world’s largest and tallest statue of Buddha is built. 

Overnight at HKFR in Thimphu

 

 

Day 2. Exploring Unique Capital City

Day start with visiting Simply Bhutan Museum is an interactive living museum that gives a quick introduction to various aspects of traditional life in Bhutan. Zorig Chusom (The National Institute for 13 Arts and Crafts) and Royal Textile Museum. In the evening, Tashichho Dzong, which houses the secretariat, the throne room and offices of the King. Part of this Dzong also serves as the summer residence of the Zhung Dratshang (Central Monastic Body), including the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot of Bhutan). Overnight at HKFR in Thimphu

 

 

Day 3. Day Excursion to Chari Monastery

After Breakfast, Drive to Dodeyna at 2600m. From there walk about an hour to reach Chari Monastery. This monastery was built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1620 who established the first monk body here. Picnic lunch will be serving along the riverside at Dodeyna if weather is good.

End the day by Joining Thimphu residents for circumambulations the National Memorial Chorten. Overnight at The Happiness Farm in Paro

 

Day 4. Hike to the Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest)

After breakfast, we will drive you to the trailhead to commence a climb through a beautiful pine forest to the sacred Taktshang Monastery or Tiger’s Nest Temple. Tonight, you will have a cooking experiment of national dish of Bhutan ‘Ema Datshi’ at local farmhouse. Overnight at Tashi Namgay Resort in Paro

 

 

Day 5. Paro International Airport

Morning drive to Paro International Airport to bid farewell as you embark on your onward journey
