Day 1: Arrival & Acclimatization in Thimphu
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by your personal guide, marking the start of your Ngyelso Leisure Tour. From Paro, enjoy a scenic one-hour drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital, situated at 2,350 meters above sea level.
In the afternoon, visit Kuensel Phodrang, commonly known as Buddha Point. This site features one of the world’s largest seated Buddha statues and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley—an ideal place to reflect and acclimate to the altitude.

Day 2: Exploring Bhutan’s Unique Capital City
Begin your cultural immersion with a visit to Zorig Chusum – The National Institute for the 13 Traditional Arts and Crafts – where young Bhutanese are trained in ancient skills such as thangka painting, wood carving, and embroidery.
Next, explore the Royal Textile Museum, a showcase of Bhutan’s rich heritage of weaving and royal garments.
In the evening, tour the impressive Tashichho Dzong, a grand fortress that houses the throne room and offices of the King, and serves as the summer residence of the Zhung Dratshang (Central Monastic Body), including the Je Khenpo(Chief Abbot of Bhutan).

Day 3: Leisure Hike to Chari Monastery
After breakfast, drive to Dodeyna (2,600m) to begin a gentle, one-hour hike to Chari Monastery. Founded in 1620 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the monastery is historically significant as the site of Bhutan’s first formal monastic body. Surrounded by forests and tranquility, it’s an ideal spiritual escape.
Later, join local residents in circumambulating the National Memorial Chorten, a beloved site in Thimphu that serves as a center for daily devotion and prayer.

Day 4: Hike to the Iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery
After an early breakfast, drive to the base of Bhutan’s most iconic site — the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktshang). Perched dramatically on a cliffside 900 meters above the Paro Valley, this sacred pilgrimage site is accessible via a rewarding 2-3 hour hike through pine forests and fluttering prayer flags.
The monastery is believed to be the meditation site of Guru Padmasambhava, who is credited with bringing Buddhism to Bhutan in the 8th century.

Day 5: Farewell & Departure
